Fijian culture is very rich in traditional beliefs and many viewpoints of their life today are the same as they were a hundred years ago. The ancient Fijians lives have been documented as being cannibals and engaging in gruesome localized warfare. They lived in fortified villages and formed clans through neighboring villages through polygamy. They have passed down many legends through storytelling and dance. They observe a hierarchical with village chiefs and these titles are hereditary through the male lineage.

Some of the items that you will become familiar with while visiting Fiji are the traditional drink, Yagona, and the traditional dance, Meke. One other familiar item that you will find quite interesting and exciting is the traditional fire walking as a genuine ceremony in Fiji.
